Who is Foster Kade Designs? Foster Kade Designs is the brainstorm of Angie Weldon, my niece,who has been advertising in & supporting our paper for months. Angie is married and a stay at home mother. They have 2 sons and are expecting a daughter this spring. But unlike most pregnancies, this is an unusual time of anticipation in that the little girl has been born and is waiting in China to come home; home to meet her two brothers, and her new Mommy & Daddy. Angie is the designer and seamstress behind the wonderful creations sold in her Etsy store. Many of you have seen the beautiful Emory Lin bag I use so much! Angie says, “It’s been a really fun year seeing my hobby turn into a business endeavor. My dear friend Linds suggested I send a note to Heather at dooce.com in Oct ‘09. Before I knew it, she graciously purchased one of my Emery Lin bags and featured it on her site.
Within hours of her post I had many orders! So with the help of my amazing mom, sister-in-law Lauren, and some seriously long hours, we filled those orders. I’ve found that I love to design & sew bags. I keep sewing. There’s a reason for my passion you see, my future daughter will be named Emery Lin, and I wanted a way to honor her and raise funds for her adoption.I dream of her as I stitch each bag and I am giddy as a school girl when a new order comes in.
