Many of you have told me you noticed the tv commercials for Seashore Discount Drugs because the man is holding a Good Life paper. Both Seashore Discount drugs and Winterpark Discount Drugs have been great distribution points for us. I do not personally know the owner, Mr. Waggett, but wanted to acknowledge him and thank him for all his help in getting the paper into the hands of so many for the past 5 yr. This info is taken from his website. Davie Waggett is a native of Wilmington, born and raised in Sunset Park. Davie worked in Seashore Drug during his high school years and his first two years of college. Those four years of working with great employees, and the wonderful customers of Wilmington, are what made him decide to pursue an education and career in pharmacy. Davie graduated with his degree in Pharmacy, from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1978. Davie is very active in his church, in his family adventures, his pharmacy profession, and in his community. In his church, Davie has been a youth counselor for 14 years. He has taught Sunday School for Senior High School students for many years. He now serves as a group leader for 4th and 5th grade boys. In his professional pharmacy career, he has been president of the pharmacy associations in Roanoke Rapids, Henderson, and in Wilmington, and has held this position for over 15 years. Davie has been owner of Seashore Drug since 1991, and became owner of Winter Park Discount Drug in 1998.
Davie has coached Little League baseball for 6 years, spoken at numerous community organizations, been president of three civic clubs, and worked on many charitable organizations. He has been on the board of Fellowship of Christian Athletes for six years. Davie loves being around his family, enjoys fishing, snow skiing, boating, and flying (private pilot license). He loves watching baseball games, and being involved in his church.
Says Davie, “Pharmacy has been a natural extension for me to be involved in the lives of others, helping take care of their needs, being a part of their lives, and lending a hand whenever needed. It is fun, enjoyable, and relaxing to be able to meet face to face with our customers, discuss their needs and medical issues, offer solutions, and develop relationships at the same time. I have always thrived on getting to know people, and helping them meet their needs. Taking care of people is what we do best!”
